FaceQuest ("the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is stored, and your rights.
1. Data Storage
All your game data (progress, achievements, statistics, missions) is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
We do not operate servers or databases. Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it.
No account or sign-up is required to use the App.
2. Face Data & Photo Check-Ins
FaceQuest includes an optional "Photo Check-In" feature that uses the device's front-facing camera. This section explains exactly how face data is handled.
What we collect: When you use the Photo Check-In feature, the App captures a selfie photo of your face using the front-facing camera. This is the only face data the App collects. Use of this feature is entirely voluntary.
How it's used: Photos serve solely as a visual journal so you can compare your skin's appearance over time. The App does not perform facial recognition, face mapping, biometric identification, or any AI/ML processing on your photos. No facial features are extracted, measured, or analyzed computationally.
Third-party sharing: Face data is never shared with any third party. Photos never leave your device — they are never uploaded to any server, cloud service, analytics platform, or external system.
Storage location: Photos are stored locally on your device in the App's sandboxed Documents/CheckInPhotos/ directory as JPEG files. They are accessible only to the App and are not added to your device's Photo Library.
Retention & deletion: Photos are retained on-device indefinitely until you choose to delete them. You can delete individual photos from the Photo History screen, delete all photos and data at once via "Reset All Data" in Settings, or uninstall the App to remove all stored photos permanently.
No biometric processing: The App does NOT use Apple's Vision framework, ARKit face tracking, or any other technology to perform facial recognition, create face maps, extract biometric data, or computationally analyze facial features in any way.
3. Subscriptions & Purchases
If you subscribe to FaceQuest+, all payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store.
We do not receive, store, or have access to your payment information, credit card details, or Apple ID credentials.
Apple provides us only with anonymized transaction receipts to verify your subscription status.
FaceQuest does not use any analytics services, SDKs, or tracking tools.
We do not collect usage data, device identifiers, IP addresses, or behavioral data.
There are no ads in the App.
5. Notifications
If you enable notifications, they are scheduled locally on your device.
No notification data is sent to any server.
6. Optional Features
iCloud Sync: If enabled, data syncs via your personal iCloud account under Apple's privacy protections.
Widgets: Widget data is shared between the App and the widget extension via an on-device App Group container. No data leaves your device.
7. Third-Party Services
FaceQuest does not integrate with any third-party services, APIs, or SDKs beyond Apple's native frameworks (StoreKit, WidgetKit, UserNotifications).
8. Children's Privacy
FaceQuest does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The App does not collect personal information from any user.
9. Your Rights
You own 100% of your data.
Export your data anytime from Settings.
Delete all data with one tap using "Reset All Data" in Settings.
No account means no data retention after deletion.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
